A View From My Window

You would be forgiven for thinking that this was taken abroad somewhere. But No - It was taken from our living room window yesterday. There is two inches of snow on the ground and the temperature is below freezing. These parakeets have been flying around for several years now but never been in such desperate a search for food that they would come this close to our home. There is a flock of about seven that were feeding on and off all day. It was almost 'One in, one out, keep moving' and we filled the containers twice over and poured seed on the ground.

Oh those poor Parakeets. Surely they are indoor pets and not meant to live in the cold! Well if they have survived for a few years guess they have gotten used to the weather now. Not that I have. I need and I mean NEED to see your puppy. If I don't before Christmas and don't think I will I just want to wish you, Jim and Daniel as well as the rest of your clan a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year.
Lots of Love

I think the parkeets are lovely I have seen quite a few in the gardens round here but alas I have not had any in my garden yet. I do get lots of blue tits thou and like you filling the feeders up a lot.
Have a lovely Christmas Sandra.

Sandra,
What an amazing sight. You're right. it looks like the tropics but without the weather.
It's been an 'all over to our house" garden party for the birds here too. Jack had a big mix of birdy stuff for Christmas from Alexis and the birds have been reaping the rewards. It's a bit like watching a mine show seeing all the antics of the birds as they wait chattering and jostling each other in the trees whilst the feeders are being filled. I'd hate to see my Christmas presents being eaten up by the birds but Jack seems to enjoy it...haha.
Warm wishes Angela
